What to expect at our workshops
Workshop participants do not need to be trained in the Orff Schulwerk approach in order to attend - in fact, we love to introduce new people to the magic of Orff! Music teachers and other educators are welcome to attend our workshops, and need not become members of NYCCAOSA or AOSA in order to participate. Pre-registration is not necessary.
Single workshop prices:
FREE with a purchase of our Workshop Series (see Workshop Series page for more information)

$40 Non-AOSA Member

Our workshops are centrally located at PS 452 at 210 W 61st St between Amsterdam and West End Avenues. The nearest subway stop is Columbus Circle (ABCD 1 and 2 trains). The location is, unfortunately, not accessible-there are a few flights of stairs between the entrance and the workshop location.
Preparing for your workshop:
Expect to move, sing, create, and play! You'll be actively exploring elements of Orff pedagogy, experimenting with composition and improvisation processes, and generating practical ideas for your classroom. Printed workshop notes are included with each session - participants are welcome to jot down notes of their own, but Orff Schulwerk is best experienced through immersion in the process.
Wear comfortable clothes and shoes that allow you to move about freely (some participants choose to work barefoot or in dance shoes). To accommodate participants with allergies, we ask that you refrain from strong fragrances, and to refrain from bringing food and drinks other than water into the space. Most of our workshops are from 10 to 2:30, with a 30 minute lunch break around 12:00.
Children of all ages are welcome to attend (at no cost), but please be aware our insurance does not cover children, so please supervise children with the utmost care. By attending our workshop with a child, you assume responsibility for their safety-NYCCAOSA cannot be held liable for injuries or other incidences.
